Feedback: Unit 5

Hello, I enjoyed reading the website for information on adulthood conventional medicine regarding symptoms of and treatment for cardiovascular disease. I chose your group’s assignment this week due to my mother’s cardiac issues post-COVID and learned a lot.  The images, videos and infographics were well placed and aesthetically pleasing. The “introduction” at the beginning of the webpage was well summarized and introduced the reader to what to expect from the page. Though your tone was engaging and helpful for client education, our group had points taken away for first person language such as “you”, so that may be a change worth making. Your use of statistics was done well, especially when you broke it down that “60 million women” equals 44% in the U.S. Statistics are always something that can be misleading, so that perspective was appreciated.  The group’s explanation of the treatments (both preventatively and retrospectively) was well articulated and will be very ...

Blog review unit 4

I chose to review the adolescence section of Interplay of Body Image and Nutrition as puberty leads to a large amount of body changes that affect body image and nutrition. All five essential elements were present on the webpage with adequate information in each section. The writers organized the page nicely with heading s and subheadings for the reader to easily navigate the page. The only thing I would change is making sure that the background of the title of the page has a color or image as the default image is a burger and fries. The essential elements were organized to make it easy to follow the topic. The writing style was clear and appropriate without any grammatical or spelling errors. The writing, images, and videos strongly supported the topics. I particularly liked the mention of social media having a large impact on body image affecting girls in this age group. This is why representation matters whether on tv or on social media . We need to promote body positivity f...

Introduction: Yaiselyn Estrella Carreón

My name is Yaiselyn Estrella Carreón and I live in Loma Linda, California with my husband and seven month old baby boy. I currently work as an occupational therapist in the skilled nursing setting in Yucaipa, California. I am in the PPOTD program. One of my favorite things to do is to explore new places and try new vegan foods. One of my favorite places to explore is Los Angeles because they have so many vegan options. Something about myself is that I make it a habit to communicate with my family everyday. By doing so I always feel supported, and it allows me to keep pushing forward. After having my baby and having a really difficult time during postpartum, I feel like I am so much more interested in learning about women's health. I feel like I need to educate myself more in this area not only because I am a women but also because I have patients that I would be able to better serve if I do.
